Update in 5, 4, 3, 2...WAIT!
Hi, all.

I apologize for the enthusiastic entrance and then subsequent disappearance from easyjournal in August. It seems that I've been sucked into the evil world of facebook, and I can't get out(!). Seriously though, I wasn't feeling well the other night, so I didn't go to a charity event/dinner at the Country Club...but I still managed to "get lost" on there (FB) on & off for hours while my 2 youngest were playing video games. Granted, I did take several breaks to talk to them, feed them, & read to my youngest...but still not great parenting on my part. <---Hey, Dad...I guess I DO still pack for guilt trips, but at least they are ones I book for myself, right? ;-)

Mind you, just so we're all clear on this: I do NOT feel bad for missing the dinner; I refuse to feel guilty about not going somewhere when I'm not feeling well...especially when food is involved, and I'm feeling nauseated. You also need to understand that, while these things are very much my husband's cup of tea, I'm more of a "Boston Tea Party" kinda gal...so I do sometimes wonder if he thinks I fake illnesses to get out of them. I certainly go kicking and screaming to enough of them to give him a reason to wonder. It really IS true; opposites really do attract. ;-)

That said, I should really go and spend some time with him and the boys. I hope to get back on here later this weekend (or week) to go into a little more detail about my father-in-law's accident (in case you read a little about it on Kenz's journal), but if I don't...take care, and "hang in there," everyone. ;-)

P.S. For the record: I do actually make the occasional effort to do things I don't love to make those I do love a little happier. It just sometimes takes me a little longer to realize that if that IS my actual goal, I probably shouldn't complain about having to do it. ;-)
